David Evans Rees directed Samuel West, Kris Marshall and Miles Richardson in Journey's End (Kings Head), Paula Wilcox in Candida (New End), Hermione Gulliford and Kris Marshall in Ryan Craig's Happy Savages (Lyric Studio), a new musical, Shelf Life (Southwark Playhouse), and Peter Shaffer's Black Comedy and White Liars with Shirley-Anne Field (Theatre Museum).

Other credits include The Picture Of Dorian Gray (Westminster Theatre), The Rivals (Wimbledon Studio), Shaw's Overruled (Finborough), Much Ado About Nothing (Greenwich Park), Hamlet and The Tempest (Millfield Theatre), Cymbeline and Romeo And Juliet (Tabard), Philip Barry's Here Come The Clowns (Kings Head) Sam Shepard's True West (Canal Café), Nick Dear's A Family Affair (South Hill Park and Landor), Kafka's In The Prison Colony and Metamorphosis, Chekhov's The Butterfly, Mâtei Visniéc's The History Of Pandas (all Barons Court), and Charles Smith's Sentence Deferred (Rosemary Branch).

Davis has also directed Mascagni's opera Cavalleria Rusticana, plays by Euripides, Anouilh, Tennessee Williams, Pinter, Neil Simon, Ray Cooney, Debbie Horsfield and small-scale tours of Shakespeare, pantomime and music hall.

David has staged nine platform performances for the National Theatre with Emma Cunniffe, Michael Feast, Alex Jennings, Dinsdale Landen, Ben Porter, Sheila Reid and Juliet Stevenson.
